West Island Daycare Curriculum

At Garderie Éducative DDO, your West Island Daycare of choice, we provide programs for children from 6 months to 5 years. From Tiny Tots to Imagineers, our West Island Daycare programs focus on play-based learning, creativity, early academics, and social-emotional development in a safe and nurturing environment. Each program is designed to help your child explore, learn, and thrive.

We believe that no single educational method is enough to support a child’s full development. Many well-known approaches focus strongly on one area while overlooking others. That is why our educational program combines multiple proven methodologies to create a balanced learning experience.

We use the Montessori approach to support cognitive development and independence, the Waldorf method to encourage creativity and fine motor skills, an academic approach for early language and math learning, and learning through play to foster social and emotional development. This blended approach allows each child to grow holistically and at their own pace.

We also understand that every child develops at their own pace. Our educators provide individualized support by observing each child and adjusting activities to meet their unique strengths, interests, and developmental milestones.

Tiny Tots (5-24 months)

The Tiny Tots program supports infants and toddlers during one of the most important stages of growth. Between 6 and 24 months, children explore their world while building emotional security, self-confidence, and early social skills. Our nurturing environment encourages curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.

Through hands-on, play-based activities, children develop sensory, fine, and gross motor skills. They explore water, playdough, and sand, manipulate blocks and toys, and engage in music, movement, and creative expression. Storytime, songs, and rhythmic activities foster early language skills and listening abilities.

Children participate in free play and structured activities that promote problem-solving, cooperation, and early social interaction. Every activity nurtures confidence, curiosity, and joy in learning.

Explorers (2 – 3 years old)

The Explorers program helps curious two-year-olds discover independence while still receiving support from caregivers. Children learn to manage emotions, practice problem-solving, and form social connections in a safe, engaging environment.

Through play-based learning, children explore, create, and make choices. They build with blocks, draw, experiment with art, and engage in pretend play, all while developing cognitive, social, and motor skills. Parallel and cooperative play teach kindness, sharing, and taking turns.

Our program also supports potty training at each child’s pace, recognizing readiness signs like interest, communication, and increasing independence. Music, storytelling, and movement help develop attention, memory, and coordination. Daily routines combine structure and exploration, fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

Luminots (3–4 years)

The Luminots program engages imaginative and curious three-year-olds. Children observe, imitate, and experiment to understand the world around them. Our program combines creativity, confidence, and independence with cognitive, social, and physical development.

Through hands-on, play-based activities, children strengthen fine motor skills by drawing, painting, pasting, pouring, and manipulating puzzles and blocks. They build gross motor skills by running, jumping, climbing, balancing, and playing outdoors. Children explore cause-and-effect, practice problem-solving, and develop early math concepts while engaging their imagination.

Block play, art, music, and sensory activities support spatial reasoning, early math, and creative thinking. Storytelling and pretend play enhance language, self-expression, and social skills. Structured activities and free play promote curiosity, independence, and confidence.

Imagineers (4–5 ans)

The Imagineers program guides imaginative pre-schoolers ready to explore new ideas and develop early academic skills. Children tell stories, sing, and act out rhymes, using memory and imagination to build language and creativity.

Through hands-on, thematic learning, children develop reading, writing, math, science, and social skills while gaining confidence, independence, and self-esteem. Art, music, drama, sensory play, and building activities strengthen fine motor skills, while outdoor and active play develops gross motor skills and coordination.

Structured and exploratory learning encourages children to ask questions, solve problems, and express creativity. Storytelling, dramatic play, and imaginative activities foster social skills, empathy, and cooperation, preparing children for school while nurturing a lifelong love of learning.
